Why we publish this page
Before you trust a casino review, you should know two things about the publication behind it: who owns it, and who pays it. In gambling media the honest answers are often uncomfortable, which is why so few sites give them. ONLINE CASINO DOCTOR would rather be examined than merely trusted, so here is our full disclosure, written to the same standard we demand of the operators we review.
Ownership
ONLINE CASINO DOCTOR is independently owned and operated by its own small publishing team. The critical negatives, stated for the record:
- No gambling operator owns any part of this site. No casino, sportsbook, game studio, or payment provider holds equity, debt, board influence, or any other instrument of control over us.
- We own no part of any operator. Nobody involved in producing this site holds a financial stake in any company we review, and the team is barred from acquiring one while working here.
- No network masthead. This site is not one skin of a white-label affiliate network recycling the same rankings under different logos. Everything here is written for this site, in this site’s voice. A sibling publication under common ownership covers gambling industry news separately, with its own independent editorial content; neither site shares reviews, rankings, or commercial obligations with the other.
If ownership ever changes in a way that matters, this page changes first and prominently. A trust page that silently goes stale is worse than none at all.
Where the money comes from
Affiliate commissions
The primary funding source. Some links from our pages to operators carry a referral tag; if you click one, register, and play, the operator pays us a commission, typically either a one-time fee or a share of revenue over time. This is the standard economics of independent gambling media, and we would rather itemise it than euphemise it. It has one honest implication you should weigh: our income depends on some readers going on to gamble. We offset that structural bias the only way it can be offset, with published methodology, verdicts that precede commerce, and the firewall described below.
Display advertising
Clearly labelled advertising may appear on the site under the rules in our Advertise With Us page. Advertising is always visually distinct from editorial content and never influences it.
What we refuse
We do not sell reviews, ratings, ranking positions, or removals. We do not accept payment to soften criticism or to publish operator copy as editorial. We accept no funding from unlicensed operators at all, on any terms.
The firewall, concretely
Disclosure without mechanism is just confession, so here is the mechanism:
- Verdict before deal. Reviews are researched, tested, and scored under our Editorial Standards before any commercial arrangement is considered. A deal signed afterwards changes the link on the page, never the words around it.
- Scores never move for money. Commission rates differ between operators, and the team writing reviews does not weigh those rates in scoring. A high-paying partner with slow withdrawals gets described as an operator with slow withdrawals.
- Coverage is reader-led. We review operators our readers ask about and operators our reporting surfaces, including many with whom we have no relationship and earn nothing.
- Criticism survives commerce. Negative findings about commercial partners are published and stay published. Partners who dislike that are free to end the arrangement; several models of this industry’s history show operators attempting exactly that, which is why this clause is written down.
What affiliate links mean for you
Clicking an affiliate link costs you nothing extra; commissions are paid from the operator’s marketing budget, not your balance. The link tells the operator you came from us and nothing more about you, as detailed in our Cookie Policy. And a commission is never a recommendation that gambling is advisable for you: our Disclaimer, which we mean every word of, covers the risk side of this subject.
